    The Vitamin A (Retinoid) Vitamers include: Retinol, retinal, and four carotenoids: the carotenes alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, gamma-carotene, and the xanthophyll beta-cryptoxanthin.

“Retinoids”  

    Retinoids are a group of fat-soluble tetraterpenoids, with four terpene units joined head-to-tail containing the 20-carbon structure with various chemical groups at the 15 carbon position.

Variations of Retinoids & Vitamin A

    In our body, are chromophores involved in vision, transcriptional regulation, and cellular differentiation.

Retinoids may be used as the coenzyme called vitamin A and variations at the 15 carbon position yield different vitamin A forms, including retinol, retinal, retinoic acid, and retinyl ester.

These different forms of vitamin A may be collectively referred to as Retinoids.
    Examples of retinoids include:

    In our diet, Retinol and derivatives of retinol are a potent form of Vitamin A (Retinoid), as an all-trans retinol, play an essential role in metabolic functioning of the retina, the growth of and differentiation of epithelial tissue, the growth of bone, reproduction, and the immune response.
    In our body, Retinol may reverse the signs and symptoms of vitamin A deficiency and is the standard for vitamin A activity.
